In 2012 the Cultural and Historic Preservation Department began recording the names of Birds. The images of the birds were painted by Carol Dana. Carol was inspired by Andrew Dana and Frank Sieibert, who were both interested in birds. Because of this interest they documented many names of the birds. The Penobscot 2012 Calendar features fifteen (15) of these birds. Click on the Snowy Owl below to hear the pronunciations
